[There's a pile of books beside the beanbag this wolf is sitting in, a collection that seems to dip into some fairly advanced magic. Remus frowns as he flips through the pages. He's decided that he really ought to take advantage of his time here, and this little studying session promises to be the first of many. He seems preoccupied, though, and occasionally stares off into the corner of the room instead of at the pages before him, thinking about all he has to look forward to when he heads back to the cottage.]

Mm. [Chew, chew, swallow, and then delicately bring the tea to the table.]

I will have you cooking eventually.

Does that count as murder-suicide? Making us eat my cooking, I mean.

I'm sure you can learn. I'm sure. We'll just find a book somewhere, and it will be easy.

[Preoccupied again, Remus is sipping tea rather than thinking too much about words and how they are coming out of his mouth.]

When have I ever used a book to learn something?

[Distracting with faux-academic woes?]

When I have been disinclined to let you copy.

One time. One time, I copied! The shame will follow me all of my days!

The punishment fits the crime. You told me you needed me and now you never will get rid of me.

Bound with your presence until the end of time, what shall I do?

Suffer horribly and reek of chocolate, I imagine.

[A sickly sheen of sweat has glossed over Remus's forehead and the hollows of his cheeks and he holds his teacup now in two hands as he looks about their little home.]

... I love it here.

[There's a long silence from Sirius, before he moves to the sink and runs the cold water. Soaking a tea towel, he squeezes out the excess and crosses the kitchen in three loping strides to press the cool cloth to Remus' cheek.]

Me, too. You need me to help you with anything?

[His surprise is momentary and fades into a smile as he sets the cup down and puts his hand over top of Sirius's, looking up at him. That smile wavers when he looks at the extra empty pair of chairs around the table. This home and this night are missing something at this moment that he knows Sirius must feel just as poignantly.]

Do you miss him?

[Singular. The other missing presence doesn't bear speaking of.]

Yeah. Not as much as I thought I would, but yeah. And Evans' freckled mug.

[Leaning in, lips not quite touching Moony's.]

But we're okay for now, I reckon.

We are.

[Brief return of the smile. Then Remus takes both Sirius's hands and leads him backward to the door.]

Come outside with me.

Alright.

[Allows himself to be led, one curl flopping into his eyes as he follows. He doesn't bother moving it.]

[As they walk out onto the twilight-lit porch, Remus stops and steps closer. His hands duck to the bottom of Sirius's shirt and touch the fabric there.]

You won't be needing this.

[ooc: want to moon it up in a journal or leave it unthreaded?]

[A slow smile, then, and he lifts his hands above his head.]

Dogs look stupid in clothes.

[ooc: arooooo? You choose, I'll run with it.]

[Removes it with a chuckle.] I don't know about that. Certainly more adorable than wolves.

[Choices - I'm bad at them.]

[Grins, his hair tufting all over the place.]

I do look good with a collar. [Remus has buttons that Sirius is undoing right now.]

[As am I. Brilliant! Well, you know I will backtag forever and a day, so if you want to thread it out, I'm happy to do so. If you want to handwave, that's ok too. <3?]
