[She's not really talking to you. In fact, she seems to mostly be concerned with jotting down notes about this place and making observations aloud. She sounds very excited about being here. She waves a hand, and a pineapple appears in it, which is promptly sequestered under her arm.]

Fascinating—clearly not in the Oneiros, yet things arrive when they are needed even to non-lucid dreamers, though it does not seem to have the same malleability as the dreamscape. Or, at least, I assume not everyone here is a lucid dreamer; perhaps I'll conduct a survey, to see if there's any connection between people who arrive here. Yes, that's a good idea. Maybe when I get back I'll see if the interns can get in here through the same door.

Paradox levels, gauntlet to be determined via further experimentation; magic seems to be functional. Status of objects created in this room when brought outside unknown. —created or summoned, actually, can't assume that yet. Hm...

Oh, I would love some help! Many hands make light work, you know. I've already got a whole page of experiments I need to carry out, although some of them I'm sure people have already tried, so I suppose one of my first questions should be what's already known.

We-ellll... hm. In terms of things that one can do without instruments, I'm somewhat limited, and instruments created by this room might be biased. [she taps her pen gently against her notebook.]

Well, first and foremost, I'd like to see what the limits of the room's capabilities in creating or acquiring items is. For example, how complex of items can we get? How rare? Can items be created that haven't been invented, or items that aren't physically possible?

Or dangerous. I haven't confirmed that yet, but better safe than sorry.

Hmm. How complex are we talking here? A laptop, supercomputer? Or replicating DNA that will transform into a horrible monster hellbent on drinking blood?

It doesn't seem to be superficial. I suppose one would have to consult healers in one's own universe to be absolutely certain. Or extend the stay; except of course that that raises further questions of whether or not one requires sustenance in a place which will place you precisely where and when you were beforehand. Depending on the way in which it does...

I wonder if someone could stay here indefinitely without food or drink, then, if one returns to the time and place they left. And would the same extend to vampires, or those with other dietary irregularities?

Perhaps if I eat something before I leave and then run some tests. Of course, if that's true, one could theoretically smuggle out items in a body cavity...

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Gamp's work—she must not be from where I come from, otherwise I'm sure I would have heard of those studies. [...yes, she assumes it's a she.] Would you be able to brief me?

History books are evasive on gender... might have been a joint discovery. But it's essentially that anything can be conjured with five exceptions. Food is the main one; you can summon it, expand it, refill it, but you can't create it out of nothing.

Objects... depends what you ask for, I suppose.

The kind I practice makes it fully possible to break the law of conservation of matter, if one is skilled enough. Of course, I tend to find the taste somewhat lacking. After all, it's one thing to have the components arrive intact; it's another thing to have it perfectly seasoned.

But I digress. What kinds of things have you attempted to summon, Mr. Black?

[Caroline has attracted a fan, or perhaps, it is the pineapple. Either way, a black-backed jackal peers out from behind various pieces of furniture, following at a safe distance.]

[She lets it follow for a while, not particularly bothered. An actual jackal, she wonders, or a shapechanger?

After a while, once she's run out of things to gawk at, she takes a seat on a convenient chair and gives the jackal a look that says it's all right to approach, if it likes.]

[It "sneaks" closer, sidling around chairs and couches, occasionally squirming underneath and poking its nose out. Eventually, it seats itself before her and assumes a genial, dog-like pose, tail wagging, tongue hanging out. At a closer proximity, it may be easier to tell that it is indeed staring at the pineapple.]
