[There's a pile of books beside the beanbag this wolf is sitting in, a collection that seems to dip into some fairly advanced magic. Remus frowns as he flips through the pages. He's decided that he really ought to take advantage of his time here, and this little studying session promises to be the first of many. He seems preoccupied, though, and occasionally stares off into the corner of the room instead of at the pages before him, thinking about all he has to look forward to when he heads back to the cottage.]

[His quill scratches across the parchment at a pace to keep up with Remus' words, hurrying only after the momentary silences where he's dipping for ink.] ...should've got self-inking. Say that last part again?

To... mix the tracking intention with the dissuasion, one of us should really take just one each so we aren't overloading. Does that make sense? We have to find them, then get rid of them. If you take the first, I can take the second, you did most of the first on the map anyway. They'll be nearly simultaneous, so we'll need be highly connected. Completely in sync.

[Craning his neck back to peer up at Remus.]

Hmm. Do you think we have a connection Moony of mine? [Someone is still disgustingly pleased with this whole relationship thing.]

Mm. We'll find out, won't we. [Cranes his neck down with a smile, cupping Sirius's cheek with one hand and touching their noses just barely together. Sirius might not notice, but Remus specifically took the iffy sort of mind control parts of all of this for himself. If they have to get Dark, he'd rather it be him than Padfoot. Sirius had gotten away from that world, he's a monster, it just makes sense.]

[He hasn't noticed. Not yet. But he will, when he goes back over his notes later on.]

I'm gonna go with 'yes'. Connection via nose is irrefutable.

[Smiles wider.]

You look ridiculous upside down. [That's code for "I love you."]

I'll have you know that Sirius Black always looks fantastic. [Attempting to bite Remus' nose. Also code.]

[Shakes his head with a laugh as he leans back.] That- you are the wild beast, not me.

You soothe my savagery.

I'm rather rubbish at it if my nose is still in danger.

Ha! All of you is in danger. You're mine, now, and I'm not letting go.

[Evidence: playful gnawing of the inside of Remus' right knee. Mmmcorduroy...]

[Actually lets out a squeak and tries to squirm his leg away.] Sirius!

[Apparently he's ticklish. He lets out a little chuckle as he shoves at Sirius's head.] God, I haven't made a sound like that since I was a first year.

I have the skills to make you weak in the knees, is that what you're saying?

To make me sound idiotic, rather.

Is there anything else, or do you think we're ready? I'd like to get this started as soon as possible. Just in case.

A fool in love, maybe. But that's pretty much both of us, so - let's do this. I can't think of anything we've missed.

[Breathe in, breathe out. Stands with Sirius.]

[Gentle tugs mean walk with him to their door.]

Wait a sec, let me check if night's fallen--

[Nods, then hugs his arms around himself as he waits.]

[A moment or three to poke his head in and gauge the time--] --mid-afternoon. C'mon, Moony, let's get this done. We'll start with warding and hiding this door, then we'll seal the cottage, yeah?

[novumlupine]

And then clearing the forest.

Right. Onward. [Very purposeful marching.]

[Closing the door behind them, Sirius plucks a single hair from his scalp and presses it against the door along the grain; a muttered spell melds the curl with the wood, and will tie the hiding of the door to him. Remus will have to be in human form to be able to override it, so it should prevent his wolf from sensing the magical trace.

[Remus is doing something similar while walking in a wide circle around their cottage. More than just hiding it from view, which would invite a mad werewolf to crash into it unawares, he has to keep himself away from it entirely.

It never gets easier. Taking precautions against himself. Especially when it's rather Dark and his wand hand is already a bit shakier than usual.]

[Following along behind him to add another layer of "eh, I want to be elsewhere" to the wards Remus is building.] ...alright, there?

Hm? Fine, fine. [Shakes his head, half to affirm and half to clear it, then adds the time limit on top.]
