[ This is no ordinary teleportation, sᴇᴏᴜʟ soon realizes— no, not sᴇᴏᴜʟ. Here, he understands he must be Jaeshin. If the Order had something to do with his relocation, it would have been on his command. No one outside of the organization is to be trusted, particularly after the previous casualties left by the North's hand. But putting people on the alert that he's anything other than a Regular Joe is out of the question.

So, Jaeshin resolves to accept the place for what it is: a conveniently quiet place to smoke. It's just as convenient to think about an ashtray and see one appear right in font of you.

He sits, loose-limbed and silently examining the other occupants. A boisterously loud man in one corner, a quiet one curled in on himself in another, a few girls and boys on the prowl for a good time. A kid with a giant... Burton-esqe dog... thing. People materializing out of thin air. —And is that more supernatural summoning going on over there? ]

Well. Alright, then. Nothing too out of the everyday.

Could it really even be classified as a dog?

Either that or it's a horse. You got a spare cigarette? I'm out.

[osmosis]

[ Jaeshin fishes into his pockets without preamble, musing, ] Maybe a Yeti. [ Having produced both a cigarette and a lighter, he offers the smoke, ready to light it. ]

[fuckvampires]

Don't need the light, thanks.

[he takes the cigarette and... chews on it. yes. he's weird.]

Are you sure of it?

[The young, white woman curled up from a dark corner where shehid herself from the rest of the world and tried to sleep. She felt very unsure being alone without any of her comrades and people she1d liked but the dark corner started to be irritating with its darkness end corner-ness and whatnot. Shortly, Yin was bored, more bored than scared of thhis place she'd found herself.]

What's your name?

[osmosis]

[ He starts to clarify how he hadn't really meant it, but shrugs it off, pulling his cigarette from his mouth instead. ]

Jaeshin. Yours?

[real_moon]

Yin. Did you know that smoking can kill you?

[osmosis]

[ A small bow of his head. ] Nice to meet you, Yin-sshi. [ He grins just a little around the cigarette. ] If it bothers you, I can put it out.

Duhhh, too many open tabs...:P

[real_moon]

[Yin shakes her head, her long white bang are flying around]

No, it's not Yin-sshi, it's just Yin. And i like the smell f cigarette-smoke, I just wanted to warn you, so you won't come back to haunt me if you die. I'm not afraid of ghost...

[her voice trembles a little, but she looks proudly to the way she thinks Jaeshin is.]

...it's just I don't like them being around. Jaeshin...it's not a Chinese name, right?

[stormbelow]

[he only happens to overhear that.]

The hell goes on around you everyday.

[osmosis]

[ A black brow arches up while Jaeshin takes his time exhaling a breath of smoke, the last of it curling around one word. ]

...Facetious.

[stormbelow]

You sure about that?

[osmosis]

[ A vaguely bemused (or is that amused?) expression starts to shift across his face. Never mind that he had actually been joking — to himself, he'd assumed — on the surface level, Jaeshin wonders, ]

Would it concern you if I weren't?

[stormbelow]

You'd be more interesting. Then again, if you were joking and you're still this calm, you've probably got plenty of drama going on anyway.

Enjoy that.

[surface_level]

[ Usually Lucas is the only one hanging back and silently inspecting, so another taking up the post attracts his attention more readily than the others. While he can usually manage to sneak up on people with a creepy-stalker kind of silence, something tells him that will not be the case here. He still goes through the motions, though, and stands without a sound behind the newcomer. ]

[osmosis]

[ Eventually, and without turning around: ]

...That kind of makes the back of my head itch, you know.

[surface_level]

This does not surprise me.

[osmosis]

You going to sit at some point, or grow roots?

[surface_level]

You wish me to sit?

[earthandfire]

[ --whoa there, he's apparently walked himself right into a thickly accumulated cloud of cigarette smoke. He politely covers his mouth for a mostly involuntary cough (...cough, cough, ghack). ]

You know they say smoking causes cancer.

[osmosis]

[ Jaeshin glances up — not at the sound of approaching footsteps several yards away, or muffled coughing, but at sensing a pulse of warmth he only feels on certain, (usually) planned occasions. It's a wave, in and out, so fleeting he almost thinks he's imagined it, but even if his power sometimes extends beyond his reign, it's never misled him.

There's no outward sign of alarm or suspicion — he even smiles a little wryly at the man — but beneath low lashes, his eyes take in the details. Tall, but unimposing. A face not turned toward him. Clouded gaze. ]

They do say that.

[ Jaeshin takes one last drag before reaching over and grinding the remains of his latest cigarette into the ashtray. ]

It's out, now.

[ By way of an awkward apology, maybe. He's sort of awkward about a lot of things. Or possibly it's less politeness than it is a necessity to detect the source of that initial sensation. ]

[earthandfire]

That's nice of you. [ He taps the ground with his foot. Even as this stranger is getting a feel for him, he's wondering at the odd trace of energy he's sensing, through the vibrations. Normally he can recognize a creature easily, based on how they read through the ground, or through his skin -- demons run hot; angels barely touch the ground when they walk; vampires, no heartbeat, and ghouls smell like death -- but this one is new, not reading the same as... anything, really.

Which is nice. Novelty, and all that. He gestures vaguely to a seat nearby. ]

Mind if I sit?

[osmosis]

Not at all, go ahead.

[ His synapses are already starting to hum with the eagerness to fire, to put out feelers, a physical manifestation of curiosity. He quells it for now (shh, shh, that's better, hush) by taking a quiet breath and busying his hands, putting both pack and lighter away. ]

[earthandfire]

[ He catches that subtle sound-- ] You sure? If you want privacy, I can go somewhere else. I've just been walking around for a while, trying to get my bearings -- haven't been making a whole lot of progress.
