[ sooooo, there is a familiar kid over here, that one twiggy teenager who tends to drop into the room unceremoniously from ceilings or crawl in from air ducts in the floor. and he is just. sprawled on a raggedy old couch with a copy of One Piece draped over his face. the crinkled pages flutter a little every time he breathes (accompanied by the occasional snore).

his right elbow is wrapped in what looks like a ThermaCare heating stretch pad, and a few of his fingertips are covered in Band-Aids. tennis elbow, callouses; somebody's been working hard, basically! no surprise there, folks know he's a dart-thrower. and a dancer. and... maybe not other stuff, but, y'know. s'all good. ⚆‿⚆?

falling asleep and winding up here was probably unintentional, though. err. ]

[ oh hai. Yuuki is just going to... uh... wish up a blanket and cover him really carefully in an attempt not to wake him up. And also steal that copy of One Piece, because breathing in pages can't be comfortable. ]

[ omggg that's really nice of him, Yuuki is such a good friend. :( and it would probably have had the exact effect he was hoping for if Taemin's senses weren't trained to be so sharp. Yuuki was actually really on point with the blanket! D; but then there's a rustle of paper when Yuuki pulls that manga away and-- ]

Whoa, what-- what... whoa.

[ --annnnd Taemin starts awake. having shot straight up, he blinks down at the blanket as it drops down a little, then up at Yuuki. he should probably be alarmed that he woke up here like this, BUT NO, a delighted grin spreads across his face. ]

[ a;sdfljkas surprise? ] Hey! You looked tired and super in need of sleep, so I was just gonna move your stuff, but...

[ he waves his hands around dismissively, still grinning. ]

I'm sure I got plenty already at home. [ oops a tiny yawn, but ] What's up! How've you been?

Pretty good, I guess? Busy, but I can't complain, it's just schoolwork and like, part-time job stuff.

How about you? What happened to your elbow?

Cool, what's your job like? [ he blinks down at his elbow, almost like he'd forgotten the wrap was still on his arm. ] Oh. Worked out too hard a few days ago, strained a ligament, happens sometimes. The heat feels pretty nice. [ a tired grin. ] Can't complain here, either.

Is that-- I'm not really sure what a strained ligament is, but hope it heals quickly.

Um, I work for one of my teachers so I mostly just do whatever he needs me to do. [ to put it very mildly. ] It's not very consistent, but if it was I'd probably get bored of it pretty fast.

Pulling a muscle, pretty much. A muscle that's between your bones, holds them together. This one's not a big deal, though.

[ tilting his head. ]

Huh. Do you get paid, or is it like extra credit or something?

It's more like an extra credit kinda thing. Which is good, because I'm not exactly a model student or anything. I just do stuff when it needs doing and in turn, he factors it into-- well, not straight into my grade, but he factors it into consideration when he's doing grades.

[Not being able to see his features means she hasn't recognised him, but having fallen asleep under a book on an occasion or two prompts her to at least remove it from his face lest it stick to him.

There's a flash of remembrance as his face is revealed.]

[ that is incredibly thoughtful of her! ;; the slight brush of paper over his skin as it's pulled away wakes him immediately - it must not have been a deep sleep - and he blinks up at her owlishly for a second or two. followed by a bright grin of mutual recognition. ]

[ evidently not too fussed over waking up in an alternate dimension, etc etc. ]

[ he yawns pleasantly up at her, not the most mannerly child, but he does try to cover up his mouth with a hand. and kind of laughs into it in response to her greeting. ]

[ pushing himself up into a sitting position and tucking his legs under him, Taemin rubs at his eyes to brush the sleep away. ]

[Yawning up at her is better than yawning in her face, and she sets his book aside and gestures to her ballgown in response to his question.]

[ well, when you have a seriously heavy, cuddly python slithering over your body and nudging himself under your elbow, something is definitely wrong if you don't wake up. SO TAEMIN STIRS TO LIFE - tensely at first because what - touching - defend an attack! - but he releases a whoosh of relieved air when he recognizes who it is, even if he's still trembling a little from the adrenaline. ]
