[ sooooo, there is a familiar kid over here, that one twiggy teenager who tends to drop into the room unceremoniously from ceilings or crawl in from air ducts in the floor. and he is just. sprawled on a raggedy old couch with a copy of One Piece draped over his face. the crinkled pages flutter a little every time he breathes (accompanied by the occasional snore).

his right elbow is wrapped in what looks like a ThermaCare heating stretch pad, and a few of his fingertips are covered in Band-Aids. tennis elbow, callouses; somebody's been working hard, basically! no surprise there, folks know he's a dart-thrower. and a dancer. and... maybe not other stuff, but, y'know. s'all good. ⚆‿⚆?

falling asleep and winding up here was probably unintentional, though. err. ]

[ Asmoday blatantly Does Not Move, staring serenely at the precious pop star from the crook of his arm because he is just an adorable little python, so innocent, doesn't know any better! He only wanted cuddles, isn't that sweet? Yes, so sweet, now settle down. ]

[ Taemin sighs, brushing off the rest of the tension, and props his head up a little higher so he can look down at the snake, blinking slowly. if the little guy had ears, he'd probably scritch them right about now. with a grin: ]

Long time no see, huh?

[ Why... yes! Yes it has. Ages and ages, you know you missed your favorite snake in the whole wide world, Taemin. And if you wanted to show your affection with scritches, um, pretty much anywhere, he would welcome them quite generously. Just. Ahem. If you're thinking about it. ]

[ he tilts his head, lips twisting wryly as he rubs a finger over the python's head. ]

You know, I was just talking about you, pretty recently.

[ Oh yes, he vividly remembers that conversation. >> He was almost afraid that it would be too risky to make another serpent appearance so soon -- but then he thought, there's no way Taemin will put it together! After all, he's just so cuddly sweet adorable when he's a snake, right? Nothing like how Taemin knows him at all. Airtight logic!

Secure in the safety of his secret identity, Asmoday tightens his coils comfortably underneath the petting, and settles in for the heaps of praise Taemin is about to shower upon him~! ]

[ while the serpent gets visibly more and more comfortable, settling his weight against him, Taemin restrains the urge to laugh a little, a restraint that probably won't last much longer. the snake is really cute, so so so so cute, and Taemin is almost bemused at how it doesn't even surprise him anymore. ]

So, like. I know you probably prefer living all wild and free, but. I was kind of wondering if you had an actual home? Or do you just wander around the room looking for attention...

[ JUST A GENTLE TEASE OK. ]

[ He briefly considers doing something as blatant as... maybe wishing up a dry-erase board and writing with his tail or something, but he's really not that much of a showboating fool idiot when it comes to Taemin. Mostly. SHUT UP.

...but, uh... how about this, Taemin? How about he just lives inside your shirt? That sounds nice, he'll just burrow his head up under there where it's niiiice and waaaaarm and you can bring him some information about rent and utilities or whatever, no rush. ]

[ okay sorry there is no helping the near-SHRIEK of laughter OKAY OKAY THAT TICKLES!! Taemin wriggles around, not trying to fight anything off, exactly, but aaaahhh ticklish nooooo! ]

[ ...Taemin are you offering to bring this humble serpent home with you. Asmoday pokes his head back out again just to make sure he is understanding this correctly. ]

[ the kid can tell the serpent understands his full meaning. funny how they're able to communicate so well. or funny how taemin is a crazy dr. dolittle. ]

I mean, I don't know if the room lets you do that kind of thing, but.

[ Is this another dream?? Seriously people is this really happening. He actually looks around with his snakey head to make sure he isn't on some kind of candid camera -- but no, no, they are alone, no one is here to point and make fun of him. HOLY SHIT IT'S REAL.

WHY MUST YOU BE SO SKINNY AND BREAKABLE WHEN HE WANTS TO WRAP YOU UP AND SQUEEZE. GET ALL UP IN THIS HUG, TAEMIN. ]

[ he is very much happily returning the squeezing, even if he can't breathe sort of a little bit. ]

Can always give it a try, right? You'd have to get used to my... roommates, though.

[ Your roommates will have to get used to him. Especially how he is terrible at sharing. Oh, and also how he's secretly a very cranky demon prince who is stupid obsessed with their dongsaeng.

But all of that is in the future! Asmoday coils himself around Taemin's waist and up over his shoulders so he can tuck his head underneath his precious popstar's chin, not even remotely embarrassed by just how giddy he is. When the giddiness wears off it'll be a different story, of course.

At least until he remembers that he is GOING HOME WITH TAEMIN ]

[ kid is scooting himself up into a sitting position as far as he is able during all this coiling, figuring he'd squish the little... big... guy less, being upright. not that he should really be worried about squishing a GIANT PYTHON, but hey; the pushing and inching makes him wince a little bit when he forgets about his elbow until it digs into the arm of the couch. he quickly re-situates himself until he's not leaning on it, and sets about fondly petting the top of his little-big friend's head. HOW IS IT NOT STRANGE THAT A PYTHON IS NUZZLING HIS CHIN LIKE A CAT.

and then Taemin bites his lip, a not-so-great thought occurring to him. ]

...You don't think you'll get spliced, or... splinched... if we try to take you out of here... do you?

[ too much Harry Potter addles the mind. ]

[ Aww, Taemin, you're so cute, makin' up words again! Asmoday does get the general idea, though, and he would scoff if he wasn't just BARELY remembering not to make any noise.

On top of that, however, he's distracted by the subtle wincing that he can only feel because he's touching the kid with six feet of skin right now. It reminds him that he doesn't like it when Taemin shows up here looking upset or hurt! Shifting his coils as gently as possible, he angles his head in towards the afflicted elbow, examining with little flicks of his forked tongue (for the record, world, even the air around Taemin tastes good, so suck on that) and staring back at his popstar with the best 'explain this' expression a snake can manage. ]

[ the little tongue-flicks are so adorable, Taemin almost squeaks. he can, indeed, decipher that expression, and his response is slightly meek. ]

...Would you believe, a sports injury?

[ Oh hey, Taemin, if you like that expression, you should check this one out! It is his snake 'that sounds like bullshit' expression. Seriously you just say a name and he will slither right out and murder them like Jon Voight in a campy horror movie. ]

[ Taemin's face wrinkles up in the fashion of an awkward, deceitful, and slightly petulant five-year-old, although it's aimed more at the open air than at the python's accusatory eyes. ]

It's no big deal, okay, just a tendonitis thing. Flares up every once in a while, is all.

[ once in a while like when someone tries to wrench your arm out of its socket BUT HEY STILL IN ONE PIECE. ]

[ Oh, somebody is a filthy, filthy liar and that is EQUAL PARTS FRUSTRATING AND HOT. Damn this snake body. Except oh wait no because this body is going home with Taemin!

There is a strange, high-pitched noise in his head right now... 'Eeeeeeeeee'? Something like that, how odd.

Well, adorable brat, if you're going to be like that, then apparently this is a stalemate. In that case, Asmoday really has no choice but to insistently ease one of his coils underneath his poor injured little monster's elbow again -- gently -- so that it can rest on his smooth, cool scales! Better than an ice pack, right?? Ice packs can't cuddle you at the same time! Uh, again, he's only doing this because you're leaving him no choice. Really none. ]

[ listen, Taemin is usually an expert artist of deception, but this place lets him be a kid - something rare and it makes him feel... nice. so if he's not doing so well at convincing his scaly BFF of the innocuousness of the situation, don't hold it against him. for a snake, you're extra disarming and difficult to lie to, bro. ;\

extra disarming and comfortable and snuggly and thoughtful and Taemin just let loose a loooong soft sigh of contentment?? ]

[ That is, quite possibly, the most hypnotic sound he's ever heard... Asmoday slowly sinks his head down, half across Taemin's arm, and just... looks at him, from this lovely angle. That's not weird, is it? Snakes stare, it's kind of their thing.

But Asmoday... well, he's never really had the chance to just watch Taemin before. Not in person, anyway -- the hours he's spent being a creepy internet fanboy don't count. As a harmless (ish) serpent, he doesn't have to worry about what Taemin would do if he caught him right now. So, he enjoys it.

Worst snake ever, perhaps, to be hypnotized by his own prey... ]

[ whomever is hypnotized or doing the hypnotizing, Taemin is quickly being lulled into a state of complete relaxation. until such time as he and little-big-guy see fit to try leaving the room together, he is finding it more than easy to drift off again, eyes closing. while the snake's coils rise up and down with the steadiness of his breathing, there's a wisp of a smile on Taemin's sleeping face. ]
